Vasileios Chaskis, Research Fellow, International Negotiations

Vasileios Chaskis is an international relations expert, consulting for organizations and public institutions on accessing and effectively utilizing EU financial instruments to foster innovation, growth, and resilience.

Previously, he served in the Hellenic Armed Forces’ Branch of Military Intelligence as a Foreign Affairs Research Analyst within the Directorate of International Relations of Balkans and Europe of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense. In this role, he conducted strategic geopolitical analysis and contributed to the development of foreign policy insights and defense cooperation frameworks.

He has also held key analytical roles in leading Greek research organizations including the Institute of International and Economic Relations, the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy, and the Association of International & European Affairs.

Trained as a Negotiator at the Mercury Negotiation Academy, he is completing a MSc in International Negotiations from Athens University of Economics and Business, and holds a BA in International and European Studies from University of Piraeus.

His research publications include “The Perfect Circle of Chinese Foreign Policy at the Ukrainian War” in Foreign Affairs (hellenic edition); “BRICS Enlargement: The Beginning of the End of Western Hegemony?”; and “Climate Change and the Emerging Human Rights Issues” both in Association of International & European Affairs.

He speaks fluently Greek, Russian, English and French.
