Clément Stratmann is a European security and policy researcher focusing on defence policy, transatlantic relations, and democratic resilience in Europe. His work addresses the strategic implications of Russia’s war against Ukraine for European security architecture, military interoperability, and EU–NATO cooperation.
Professionally, Clément Stratmann has held research and policy roles across European political institutions and security-focused think tanks. He has contributed to analytical work at the Casimir Pulaski Foundation on democratic resilience and energy security, and gained institutional experience through engagements with the German Bundestag, the French Assemblée nationale, and the FINABEL Committee on European land forces interoperability. His work has also intersected with leading European political foundations, including the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, the Robert Schuman Foundation, and the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung.
His research interests include European and transatlantic security, military doctrine and intelligence, defence cooperation within the EU and NATO, and the strategic consequences of the war in Ukraine for Europe’s long-term deterrence and resilience.
Mr. Stratmann holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from the University of Basel and has pursued advanced training in international relations, war studies, and diplomacy through European academic and professional programs.
